Description
A reward that puts an item straight into your hands, outside the usual ways of earning one. You do not win it off a carousel, open it out of a loot orb, or pick it from an anvil offer -- it simply arrives. What arrives varies: a basic component, a finished item, or a short-lived one that lasts a single round and then goes away. Augments and wisps are the main sources. Some of them keep paying out after the first gift, handing you more once your champions have attacked, taken damage, or fought a set number of rounds.

Frequently asked questions
-
Where do the items I am simply given come from?
From effects that hand you an item directly instead of making you win one. Augments and wisps hand them out: many augments pay out the moment you take them, and one of the seven wisp categories is items. What arrives varies — a single component, a finished item, or a short-lived one. The carousel and loot orbs are separate routes. Some gifts hand you an anvil instead, and you pick from its offer.
-
Can I control which item I am given?
Mostly no. A directly handed item usually says random: it rolls from a pool and ignores your board, so weak components early are luck, not a mistake you made. If you want a real choice, you want an anvil — it offers four options and you pick one. Each anvil kind draws from its own pool, so the anvil you receive still fixes what those four options can be.
-
I was handed an item and it disappeared. Where did it go?
It was a temporary one. Some rewards hand you an item that only lasts a short time, usually one round. It is short-lived by design, not something you lost by misplaying. Wisps are the usual source, and most of what a wisp gives lasts one round. The reward text calls the item temporary before you buy it, so read for that word. Permanent items stay on your bench or on the champion until you move them.
-
If an effect breaks my completed items back into components, does it work on every item?
No. The effect that does this fires when you sell a champion, returning the components of the completed items it was holding — but emblems and tactician items are excluded and stay whole. That exclusion is printed in the effect's own text, and those two are the only ones it names. Only completed items break; a loose component is already a component. It also only triggers on selling, so other ways of removing an item break nothing.
-
Does a champion duplicator take a copy out of the shared pool?
The pool is shared: every player draws champions from the same stock, and the highest cost tier holds the fewest copies of each champion. A duplicator's current text says only that it creates a 1-star copy on your bench, but the description it launched with said it pulls that copy from the pool. So treat the copy as coming out of the same stock your opponents roll from, and expect that to bite hardest at the top tier. See the shop for how pool depth shapes rolling.
-
Why will my duplicator not work on the champion I want?
Because duplicators come in restricted and unrestricted versions. The common restricted one only works on a champion costing three or less; the unrestricted one works on any champion. If the champion you picked costs more than your version allows, the game refuses it. Whatever it copies arrives as a 1-star unit on your bench and counts as an ordinary copy toward starring up — a shortcut to a copy, not a free star level.
-
A reward says I get more later. When does the rest arrive?
When its own counter fills. These payouts hang on a stated trigger, not a timer you can rush: a number of player fights finished, or a total of attacks your team has made. The first gift lands at once and the rest follow once the count is reached. What arrives later is a fixed amount, not an endless stream, so read the whole line before valuing the reward — the delayed half can land far too late to matter.
-
How much is a handed-out item actually worth?
Rough gold values give you a yardstick. A finished item is worth about twelve gold and a single component about eight, so two components you cannot combine into anything you want are worth less than one finished item you can use now. Then adjust for timing: the same item early is worth much more than late, because it decides what you build around. Judge on that, not on counting objects.
-
How is an item that is simply given different from an anvil, an orb, or the carousel?
By how much say you get. A handed item arrives with no choice and no cost — the game decides. An anvil offers four options and you pick one. A loot orb drops from a monster round and opens into whatever it holds. The carousel is the contested one: everyone picks off one shared ring, each champion on it already carrying an item, and the lowest-health players are released first.
